Welcome to our first ever edition of \u2018Market Mumblings\u2019!<\/p>\n

We had hoped that this would be a regular item in the local paper but we have instead decided to print it to be read by producers and customers here at the Market.\u00a0 It will also appear as a Blog on our website and on our Facebook page If you follow us on Facebook already, please feel free to \u2018Like and Share\u2019!<\/p>\n

The idea behind Market Mumblings is to keep you informed of any events that have or are going to take place at the market and also for Producers to share what they are up to, what is good and seasonal on the farm \u2013 if you have anything that you would like to include in our next edition, please email your news and photos to info@hatacakes.co.uk<\/a> .<\/p>\n

This week at the Market is a busy one!\u00a0 Not only do we have all our lovely Producers here, we also have our December Craft Fair, showcasing the talents of Crediton\u2019s Crafters!\u00a0 I can feel some Christmas Shopping coming on!<\/p>\n

Autumn is a busy time for farmers and small holders, not least for our Apple Producer, Andrew, who has had a bumper apple harvest at Redhill Farm.\u00a0 They have just completed 12 weeks of picking and\u00a0 pressing apples and as a result have produced almost 10,000 bottles of apple juice!!\u00a0 That is a lot of apple juice!<\/p>\n

I think that Andrew feels that he did the majority of the hard work, but this photograph clearly proves that Betty Boo can take the credit, here she is admiring her handiwork!<\/p>\n

Ruby Red Beef have been out and about too, they attended the \u2018Beef South West\u2019 event at Westpoint during November.\u00a0 This was a one day event organised by the\u00a0National Beef Association South West the aim of which is to showcase the breadth and depth of quality breeding and production.<\/p>\n

Did you know that the West country is home to 20% of Britain\u2019s national cattle herd?<\/p>\n

Ruby Red entered the competition for the best steak in the SW and we won Reserve Champion.\u00a0 They are displaying their rosettes on their stall today!!<\/p>\n

Finally, Christmas is coming!! There is one more Farmers\u2019 Market before Christmas which takes place on Sunday 20th<\/sup> December.\u00a0 Why not order your Christmas food, drink and gifts to collect at the Christmas Market.\u00a0 Delicious, locally produced and collected direct from the producer \u2013 what\u2019s not to love?!<\/p>\n

Please note that there will NOT be a market on 2nd<\/sup> January 2016 \u2013 the first market of the year will be on Saturday 16th<\/sup> 2016.<\/p>\n

Why not collect a date card from one of the stallholders today so that you have all the 2016 market dates at your fingertips!!<\/p>\n
